One question, two rules.
What is the best starting XI?
Rule 1: Their team has to be playing in the world cup.
Rule 2: You can only choose one player from each country.
Let the debate begin...

I like the 2nd rule. Should make things tougher.
ReplyDeleteGK- Howard (USA)
RB- Maicon (Brazil
CB- Vidic (Serbia)
CB- Marquez (Mexico)
LB- Ashley Cole (England)
RM- Robben (Netherlands)
CM- Iniesta (Spain
CM- Essien (Ghana)
LM- C. Ronaldo (Portugal)
F- Messi (Argentina
F- Drogba (Ivory Coast)
Best part about this lineup is Iniesta feeding Robben and Ronaldo down the wings, with Essien defending behind them. Marquez is aging, so that was a tough pick, but I couldn't think of any others. Let's see someone else's XI.
GK - Tim Howard (GK)
ReplyDeleteRB - Maicon (Brazil)
CB - Vidic (Serbia)
CB - Canavaro (Italy)
LB - Evra (France)
RM - Robben (Netherlands)
CM - Essien (Ghana)
CM - Iniesta (Spain)
LM - Ronaldo (Portugal)
F - Messi (Argentina)
F - Rooney (England)
Good team Brian, I had most of them on my squad as well...except Marquez (WTF) that came out of left field.
Yeah dont know what I was thinking- I like your Evra pick, then I could take out Cole and put in Terry at CB for Marquez.
ReplyDeleteGK - Scurry - USA
ReplyDeleteRB - Maicon - Brazil
CB - Vidic - Serbia
CB - Pique - Spain
LB - Lahm - Germany
RM - Ronaldo - Portugal
CM - Sneijder - Holland
CM - Lampard - England
LM - Ribery - France
S - Messi - Argentina
S - Drogba - Ivory Coast
Wow Brian Marquez? I can't really accept the "couldn't think of anyone else excuse"... I would say playing with 3 at the back is better than with Marquez.I didn't expect this, not from you.
I'm done defending my indefensible Marquez pick.... Lahm? Has he been relevant since his goal 4 years ago???
ReplyDeleteRibery? "Overrated clap clap clap-clap-clap, Overrated...."
Scurry is a solid pick. Should be well rested.
